Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may have only gotten engaged three weeks ago, but Swifties are already dreaming up their fairytale nuptials. According to sources, what some might consider the American royal wedding will likely be a low-key affair, as the Grammy winner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end “want to keep it more private” when they tie the knot.
“It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,” an insider told People. “They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
As far as where the wedding will be, sources claims it’s taking place at Taylor’s estate in Watch Hill, RI. Per Page Six: “They are getting married next summer in Rhode Island. She is in a hurry to have children.”
After two years of dating, the couple announced their engagement with a joint Instagram post, captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” According to the source, Taylor is “still showing off” her old mine, brilliant-cut diamond engagement ring, which is estimated to be worth between $750K and $1 million.
“She’s incredibly happy,” the source says of Taylor’s mood since the milestone moment. “It’s all just perfect.”
During an interview with News5Cleveland, Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, spilled all the details on their engagement.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed told the outlet. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event...when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
He added, “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine.’ ...They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful. They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
